Glenn Bever and his family have always been interested in offsetting their impact on the environment. The family purchased a hybrid car several years ago, and when they bought a new house, they immediately investigated renewable energy. Based on past energy use, they chose a 2.7 kW grid tie solar system to provide most of their electricity needs. Rain or Shine designed a custom wood structure to double as solar array mounting and pool-side shade cover. The family can now enjoy a cool drink by the pool as the clean energy made silently above their heads powers their home and spins their meter backwards.
